Shimano 600 AX Aerodynamic Stem (130mm, NOS in Original Box)
The Story
Introduced in the early 1980s, the Shimano 600 AX (Aero Dynamics) series marked a bold new era in road bicycle design, focusing entirely on wind-cheating aerodynamics. This stem is one of the most distinctive pieces of the groupset: It features an incredibly clean, teardrop-shaped top profile and an innovative hidden handlebar clamp mechanism underneath, eliminating traditional exposed front bolts to maximize the aerodynamic advantage.
Stamped with the Shimano date code "FK" (November 1981), this 130 mm version is a true collector's gem: New Old Stock (NOS), never mounted, and preserved in its iconic original box. It is the ultimate finishing touch for any early-1980s aero road bike restoration requiring period-correct perfection.
