Description:

The Koga Miyata Pro Racer from 1979 is a true icon of vintage professional cycling. Originally built for elite riders, this model gained fame through legendary cyclist Peter Winnen, who rode a Koga Miyata Pro Racer for Team Capri Sonne on the epic climb of L’Alpe d’Huez. Alongside the Pro-Luxe, the Pro Racer stood at the top of Koga Miyata’s lineup in the 1970s, offering greater frame stability and performance.

This particular bike remains in completely original condition, featuring its factory paint and period-correct components. The frame is constructed from high-quality Tange Champion steel tubing—lightweight, responsive, and comparable to Columbus SL in terms of ride quality and durability. It is equipped with a fully original Shimano Dura-Ace groupset from the 1970s, renowned for its precision, reliability, and timeless engineering.

An authentic piece of Dutch cycling heritage, this Koga Miyata Pro Racer represents the golden era of road racing. Extremely rare and preserved in exceptional condition, it’s not only a rideable machine but also a collector’s dream for enthusiasts of handcrafted vintage road bikes.

About me

A few years ago I caught the cycling bug.
It all started when I wanted to sell my old everyday racer because I simply didn't like it anymore.
But when I realized that it only needed cosmetic surgery, my love for my work with bicycles began.

In the meantime, I have given a new life to several bikes and helped many enthusiasts to get a good bike.
